Forest Road
19
One of the ultimate destinations for sportbike enthusiasts in Oregon,
the Aufderheide, or Forest Road 19, offers an incredible selection
of twisties and scenery. Climbing to the top of Cougar Reservoir
on a road cut from the hillside, then diving back down into the
lush Willamette National Forest, the Aufderheide gives anyone that
loves to carve twisties a permanent grin!
Stretching ~60 miles from Highway 126 down to the communities of
Westfir and Oakridge, the Aufderheide parallels the South Fork of
the Mckenzie River and later the North Fork of the Middle Fork of
the Willamette River. Gorgeous views of Cougar Reservoir and old
growth Douglas firs grace your journey.
Adrenalin is going to lead you through this exquisite piece of asphalt
on his Ducati 998. A current racer and excellent street rider, he
exemplifies grace aboard the throaty twin, leaving most of us breathless
in his wake :-)

Please Note:
This road is a well known bicycling and camping route. If deciding
to descend upon the Aufderheide, please be courteous of other vehicles
and always ride within your limits. Just like any road, hazards
abound and conditions change continuously. Use your best judgment.
